Thread-topic: [traumanurses] Injury Prevention Special Interest Group
I have an injury prevention coordinator who is doing a terrific job with
implementing prevention programs across every age spectrum. She is
dynamic, innovative, energetic and would make a great asset to your
committee. I myself is new to STN and would like to know if she can join
since she is not a nurse but has her Master's Degree as a Social Worker?
If she can belong, I will see if I can get her to the conference with
me.

I was recently elected to the STN board as a Director at Large. One of
my responsibilities is to form a special interest group related to
injury prevention. Since this will be a new group for STN the sky is
the limit in terms of what we want to do, and what direction we want to
go. There are already some exciting possiblities brewing on this
subject so I am anxious to get this up and running as quickly as
possible. I would like to hold our first meeting at the STN conference
in Las Vegas in March. Therefore, if anyone is interested in this topic
and planning on attending the conference please let me know what your
availability is. Also, if you are not attending the conference but are
interested in participating (or if you do not have the time to
participate but have some good ideas or thoughts on this subject) please
feel free to email me or call me. Thanks for your time and I look
forward to working with some of you-- Lynn Bennink, RN Trauma Program
