Our ED is automated but we were unsuccessful in getting the system to work.
Automation in a trauma code as well as a CPR is very difficult. There has
not been a vendor that allows multiple windows to be open at the same time
to track what has been given. The flow is just not there. When we had a
state re-designation visit 5 years ago, we had a really hard time showing
the state the information they were requesting. Good luck on your endeavor.

Subject: [traumanurses] Computerized trauma documentation
We are implementing computerized documentation in the ED, using Meditech EDM
system. Has anyone had any experience with this system and/or computerized
documentation for trauma. I like our TFS and am not sure that Meditech will
be as fast as we need it to be or the flow of documentation may not be as
smooth. Any comments or suggestions much appreciated. Thanks.
