When you get your pre-inspection packet, there is a list of things that qualify as criterion deficiencies.  We distribute that list to all of the department managers and also discuss it at trauma commitee to make sure these are things we are/ are not doing.
We also involve our department directors with preparing the application, by answering questions of the application that pertain to them.  When the application is complete, a copy is given to the OR, ICU, ER, etc for review, so they can be prepared for the visit.
Site survey is something we are always talking about at trauma committee, and our staff is well prepared.

I am looking for advice from anyone who has had an ACS Verification Review Visit.  I was wondering what you do, if anything, to prepare the nursing staff for their visit.  Traditionally for JACHO visits, everyone reviews policies, emergency plans etc.   I don't know if there are standard type questions the reviewers like to ask the staff that I could help prepare them.  Any advise would be greatly appreciated as this is my first time going through this and we have a lot of new nurses in our ED who have never gone through a visit before either.
