I have also used this document and it has proved very helpful. I also meet
weekly with all the Nursing Directors and Managers for a couple of months
prior to survey. I attend the staff meetings on each unit for a couple of
months prior to survey as well to get everyone involved and answer all
questions. I want to make sure every person in the facility knows we are a
trauma center, and knows how to contact the trauma surgeon when needed.

There is a document titled "Resource Document for Nursing Care of the Trauma
Patient" Copyright 1992, Trauma Nursing Coalition. It is the older version
of a current book, however, it is packed full of typical questions asked of
your ED, OR, ICU, etc. staff. It was very helpful for me. I've used it
twice already. Kirstie
