Sensitivity:
we have a CT scanner and 2 x-ray rooms in the middle of our ED and they
work wonderfully. They are strictly for ED patients during the day but the
CT scanner is used for all hospital patients during the night. We also
have a CT scanner in the main radiology department. In order to justify
the expense of the equipment and stafffing the scanner you probably need to
look at the number of CT's you do. We admit about 2000 pts/year.

Subject: [traumanurses] CT scanner in Trauma Room

We are a Level II facility starting to design a new Emergency Department
area. Our Directors are investigating having a CT scanner located in one
of
the Trauma Rooms. Are there any trauma centers out there where you have
done this? Pros? Cons? Suggestions? Thanks much.
