We are redesigning our ED and the Radiology team has looked at and I believe,
decided to purchase portable CT scanners. One of these will be located in the
ED. Our Radiology department is extremely particular about the quality of the
scans so I trust that these scanners are acceptable for at least some uses. We
have not discussed if and how these will be used in trauma yet.

We are a level 11 also and we just opened a 53 bed Emergency Dept. Our Cat
scanners are a few feet from the trauma room across a small hallway. One of
the advantages for this set up are you can scan nontrauma patients until a
trauma patient arrives.
Good Luck
