We also do trauma nursing grand rounds.
I've had some really good speakers from here in the NJ/ PA area.
We also have a little one day trauma course.
Every week we have mulitdisciplinary rounds consisting of case management, social work, ortho, neuro, trauma, nursing, and many others.  Following the rounds we have a rotating educational session:  spine, head injury, ortho, trauma, physiatry, etc.
I also do some education on the units as needed.

Cindy,
I have started doing a trauma nursing grand rounds.  Initially it has been a case study with an educational portion and I am trying to select different topics to cover the continuum of care.  The goal is to move it more towards a PI type process to spark some participation in development of guidelines/protocols etc.  Some topics we have done include a patient that developed cardiogenic shock in the ED from an acute MI after being struck by a car...i.e differences in presentation from hypovolemic shock.
Management of non-operative blunt abd trauma and focused on serial exams, how long should pts get serial H/H, as well as the discharge teaching for pts.  Post concussive syndrome in the mild TBI, alcohol withdrawl, unique aspects of the geriatric trauma pt, and chest tube/drainage system management.  We are also going to do one with our pain mgmt folks to talk about appropriate use of NSAIDS in different populatiions as an adjuvent to narcs.
Hope this helps
