All of our trauma patients 13 yrs old and older are tested for etoh and
drugs. A positive screen triggers an automatic Social Service consult.

Subject: [traumanurses] ETOH Counseling
We are developing a protocol to include a consult for ETOH Counseling on
trauma patients who are admitted to the hospital and have positive ETOH.
Does anyone have an example they'd share of a similar protocol? Or some
input on the way your trauma center addresses this situation.
Thanks in advance,
