Thread-topic: [traumanurses] Re: Intracranial pressure monitoring
We are wanting to update our Intracranial pressure monitoring
equipment. I
        would like to know

1 What monitoring system you use
We use the Spiegelberg System by Aesculap

        2. How long have you used it
We switched systems in January 2003 from the Camino System
        3. Accuracy
So far, it seems accurate. This system re-zeroes itself Q 1 hr,
decreasing the chance of your ICP numbers drifting.
        4. Advantages of the current system
        1. Easier to set up for the nurses, less steps.
2.The costs are less expensive than other system.
3.Great customer service for education of staff/MDs.The company was
very willing to work with our hospital.
        4. The company has other products that we use also(EVD,drill
kits,etc.).
        5. Disadvantages or problems you have encountered with the system
1.No battery pack for traveling with patients.

        6. Ease of use
        Very easy for staff!!
        7. Maintenance
None so far. We do yearly PM checks.
        8. Customer support from the manufacturers company
Excellent so far.Quick call backs for ANY needs. Weekly visits by the
area rep.Willing to do as much education for staff as needed. The company has
been very willing to listen to staff input and ideas.
