The ACS has forwarded STN a request for assistance in supporting a Florida
Trauma funding bill:
The House and Senate recently passed their respective budget bills and are
currently working through a conference committee to reconcile differences
in spending levels between the two bills. Of particular note, there is
significant difference in the amount of trauma care funding in both bills.
The House is funding trauma care at approximately the same level as last
year ($12.9 million) while the Senate has provided for a substantial
increase ($18 million).
Please access the Surgery State Legislative Action Center (SSLAC) at
http://capwiz.com/sslac/issues/alert/?alertid=2013566 for a special alert
on this issue from the ACS Florida Chapter. The SSLAC will allow you to
access an editable form letter that you can easily email to your legislator
urging them to support the Senate's funding level on trauma. Should you
have any questions, please contact Bob Harvey with the ACS Florida Chapter
at bharvey@hgmnet.com.
Thanks.
