There is a 25-30minute video called "Dying High in the ER" that will
scare the pants of the kids! We used the video at a State Red Ribbon
Leadership Training with great response from the participants. The
students watched the video followed by the opportunity for Q&A time. We
asked an ER nurse be the moderator so the kids would understand the
reality of the video.

I'm offering this suggestion from home, so don't have the specifics of
how to order. It was available for a limited time at $99.00. However, I
can get the information if you are interested. Please contact me at the
number listed below Monday-Friday; 8:00-4:30. I'd be happy to assist.

ENA has a great program called "every 15 minutes" that focuses on
drinking
a driving. It is a huge production that needs planning but you might
be
able to get some content from them. Our ED Manager here spoke at one of
those and prior to the event she had some parents write a letter to
their
child as if they had died. She read these to the assembly--quite
emotional.

Subject: [traumanurses] Presentation question

I am putting together a presentation to give to high school seniors a
few
days before their prom. The school said "scare them". What has worked
for
others? I want this to be on power point. I really want their attention,
not
just gore but the message too!!
