They are being used but to my knowledge none are approved for use with
pressure injectors.  The dynamics of the length of the catheter, the
fact that they are not designed for pressure infusion, and the inability
to visualize if any problems occur from the jet stream of fluid  coming
from the catheter tip all make for a liability that the manufacturers
seem unwilling to assume.

Is anyone using a central catheter that is rated for IV contrast and
use of power injector? The power injector we use has PSI of 300.
I have checked with Arrow (PSI limit of 15) and Edward's Lifesciences
(PSI limit of 43.5).  

If unable to obtain peripheral IV, how is IV contrast injected?
