If the tubing splits it is not really a problem, more of a mess. The
greatest pressure point is where the tubing connects to the catheter
because of the size reduction. ie a PICC line, which should never be
used with a pressure injector, usually ruptures at the hub. The amount
of pressure connection point is determined by the guage and lenth of the
indwelling catheter. It's a matter of physics.

Is anyone using a central catheter that is rated for IV contrast and
use of power injector? The power injector we use has PSI of 300.
I have checked with Arrow (PSI limit of 15) and Edward's Lifesciences
(PSI limit of 43.5).
If unable to obtain peripheral IV, how is IV contrast injected?
