Yes, I know. The pt. type we were discussing in particular were pts with
open book fractures and the stabilization  was to be just long enough to
get them through initial trauma evaluation until external fixation could
be completed.  Sorry that I forgot to mention that. Mel

 That is controversial, sheets can slip,  and clips can interfere with
evaluation. They are not radiolucent and can have a profound effect on
your ability to Xray, CT scan, perform angiography studies, nor can you
subject your clipped pt. to MRI studies.

We just discussed this at a recent trauma mtg and the ortho surgeons
feel that a draw sheet and a towel clip are as effective and cheaper.
