I take a laptop to rounds. Our registry is on the hospital network, so I log on and can enter data into the registry right at
rounds. We have had 2 reviews since we have been doing that. We brought the laptop right to the board room and were able to pull data and print
it right on the spot. It works well. We have the Cales Trauma Registry.

We recently obtained
a laptop which is tied in through the hospital network that we are going to use
for trauma rounds. I have a few questions for those of you who do the
same:
1. Do you keep a
hardcopy of the data?
2. Have you been
reviewed for designation since you started using the laptop? If so, were you
able to retrieve your data without difficulty? Did the reviewers have any comments on the data collection?
3. We use COLLECTOR
for our registry data, have you found a way to print out data that looks
presentable? I have printed it out through the facsimile mode but it has a disoriented appearance.
Thanks in advance
for any comments or suggestions!
