We use wireless laptops for rounds as well as for daily data
abstraction. All information is entered into our registry (using
standard & custom data points). We can then print & file a patient
summary & custom report from the registry (NTRACS) for our files.

We recently obtained a laptop which is tied in through the hospital
network that we are going to use for trauma rounds. I have a few
questions for those of you who do the same:

1. Do you keep a hardcopy of the data?
2. Have you been reviewed for designation since you started using the
laptop? If so, were you able to retrieve your data without difficulty?
Did the reviewers have any comments on the data collection?
3. We use COLLECTOR for our registry data, have you found a way to
print out data that looks presentable? I have printed it out through the
facsimile mode but it has a disoriented appearance.

Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions!
